Park Hyatt – Auckland, New Zealand

Project Overview: Park Hyatt Auckland was seeking resource consent for its new 5-star hotel. Horwath HTL provided expert evidence to the planning commissioners regarding the impact of the hotel. This included high level economic impact assessment in relation to the hotel.

Scope of Work: Managed under the Park Hyatt brand, the six storey building will have a total floor area of 25,000 square metres with 190 rooms, three food and beverage outlets, event spaces, spa, fitness centre and a 25 metre pool.

Horwath HTL Solution: Horwath’s expert evidence set out and expanded on some of the key findings of an earlier Horwath HTL report, including in relation to the Auckland hotel market, the proposed location of the hotel, the proposed Park Hyatt Auckland hotel concept and the benefits that it is expected to bring to the waterfront and to the Auckland region.

Project Status: Resource consent approval has been given and work is underway. The hotel is due to open September 2020.
