Sofitel Queenstown – Queenstown, New Zealand

Project Overview: Horwath was engaged to appraise the potential market demand and operating revenue projections for a proposed 5-star Sofitel Hotel in Queenstown, New Zealand. The report was prepared for inclusion in a prospectus and as an attachment to an investment statement relating to the sale of strata-title hotel rooms in the Hotel.

Scope of Work: The Hotel is part of a mixed use six storey development comprising an 82 room hotel and associated guest facilities and approximately 3,000 square metres of up-market fashion stores, restaurants and bars on the lower two floors.

The Hotel was built to the standard of, and positioned as, an upscale 5-star full-service boutique hotel including a 120 square metre meeting / banquet facility, an up-market restaurant for 40 persons, a cocktail bar, valet parking, a health centre and spa, and a business centre.

Horwath HTL Solution: Horwath HTL’s market analysis and projections were included in the Prospectus for the hotel.

Project Status: The highly regarded 5 star Sofitel Queenstown is the hotel market leader, in the Queenstown CBD.
